I'm sorry but I'm not paying some "BAMF" to take me where I want to go. PCs are supposed to be the protagonists. Paying some NPC whose got better weapons and better skills and a secretive back story makes him the protagonist and my character the damsel in distress. It defeats the entire purpose of playing the game.

Not sure what being like that means. I was just explaining because I'm obviously having my character do things for OOC reasons, and that deserves an explanation. IC it would be an absolute steal to get Jericho for 25 caps, but for my own reasons I refuse to do it.

I don't mind operating on my own. I was getting a very strong vibe that basically the admin was saying "PCs without Guides will be killed,' as a sort of OOC warning, rather than just a bunch of town folk giving normal IC advice, so that's why I felt kind of pushed into a corner I didn't want to be in, but maybe I read that wrong.
