Derrick moves onto the use of abilities and their effects on the body.
"...ya see, doin any of this shit takes a toll on your body, especially if you're just starting out. You'll be able to do more as you practice, get used to it. Thankfully, we all have a sort of awareness about how much we can take before we do permanent damage."
Derrick motions to his sickly friend,
"You'll notice how I'm Lookin damn good, while Issac over here is a string bean who'd snap in half from a stiff breeze. That's cuz I know when to stop setting fuckers on fire. He just goes and goes and goes."
Isaac, the tall sickly man, cuts in at this point.
"Some of us aren't worried about trifle things such as our flesh and bone. If a little pain is what it takes to accomplish our goal, many are glad to suffer." He says. Isaac speaks with far more practice and confidence then Derrick.
"Do not think yourselves limited but the constraints set upon you by your minds; We are all here because we've broken the same kind of constraints before. You may use your Gifts as much as you wish. At first, the effects will be minor; a headache or a nosebleed more then likely, nothing too serious. But afterwards, you'll begin doing more permanent damage. But blocking out pain is nothing to us."
((Summary: Using Powers costs Power Points(PP). These will be restored every 24 Hours. You can use powers if you are out of points, but you will take damage equal to TWICE the cost of the power. You may do this twice. On the 3rd time and afterwards, you will take twice the power's cost in PERMANENT HP DAMAGE.))

Parker absorbed all he heard noticing the distinct difference between the two men. He took heed of the warnings though he was eager to explore his new abilities.

They next moved on to improvement.
"As you become more familiar with your gifts, you'll be able to use them more often, as well as learn new ways to use them." Isaac said.
"It should be noted that our abilities fall into one of 2 groups; Minor Abilities and Discipline Abilities. Minor abilities are traits any of us can learn, and are usually very simple to perform. Discipline abilities are our unique gifts, and can only be expanded upon by having the right genes, or "Dominance" over a particular school. For Example: I am a Telekinesis Dominant and, therefore, am unable to utilize the same abilities as Derrick, a Pyro Dominant."
"And because you probably couldn't handle it string bean!" Derrick cut in.
"Now, Graves, one of our colleagues, found a way to train his mind to unlock another Discipline, Making him a...the fuck was it...A Polymath! That's it! So, he's sort of a Half Telekinetic, Half Telepathic Psyker. But, because of that, he's not really that good at either." Derrick continued.
Isaac nodded.
"And he was only able to do this after becoming very talented with his gifts." He said, putting his hands behind his back.
"Now, there are many different abilities you can learn with your respective gifts, and by the time you become a master like myself and Derrick, you will know almost every one of them. But what truly sets us apart from similar psychics, is which of them we choose to focus on. Through meditation and extended use, one can ascend an ability far beyond it's normal strength. This will make it a bit harder to use, as well as create more strain upon your bodies, but the trade off is undeniable."
Derrick pointed at one of the "students".
"You, channel some fire into your fist."
The man did as told, and a small amount of flame covered his hand, looking as thought it could easily be put out.
"Now, compare that to this." Derrick said.
With a snap of his fingers, both of his hands were engulfed in a large amount of blue fire, which crackled violently. And then with a snap, it was gone.
((Summary: Every 3 levels, starting with level 2, your powers will increase. Your PP will increase by 1+Your Attribute Mod. You will select 2 Minor Powers and One Discipline Power. Starting at Level 11, you will be able to Ascend a Discipline Power, turning it into a far better version. Also, at level 10, The Perk,"Polymath", will become selectable, allowing you to unlock another Discipline for learning Powers.))

Parker stared in amazement at Derrick's hands. "Can we all learn to do that?" He asked ignorant of his abilities.

"If you're a Pyro like me, yeah. If not, you could be taught, like I said earlier, but you'd be spread out. Whatever you are, you'll be able to, with time and practice, enhance your control and effectiveness. But you're all a ways from that." Derrick said.
"Mr. Rayne, if memory serves me right, you're a Clairvoyant correct? You can sense residual energy and use it to look into the past, or sense changes in an opponent's thought patterns and react accordingly. You have the rarest of our gifts, Mr. Rayne. Do not underestimate it." Isaac said, with a smile.
"Daniels was a Clairvoyant, and he was one of the most effective and talented of the Hercules candidates..." he said, and he and Derrick both got a little quiet for a moment.
Rayne knew from gossip that there was an incident about 8 months ago, in which one of the Hercules Psykers, Edward Holmes, coaxed his way out the door with a great deal of equipment. Eric Daniels attempted to stop him, and was presumably killed, his body never recovered. Holmes was never found, and has vanished into the wastes.
This was one the heels of several other incidents, in which other Hercules Psykers died, both in combat, by their own hands, or in 2 cases, having to be killed by their fellow Psykers, due to breakdowns.
Of the Project Hercules participants, only 5 remain; Isaac, Derrick, Samson, Ulrich and Graves.
Thus, the reason for Project Orion.

Parker was hopeful that he could learn new abilities. Not that he wasn't happy with being clairvoyant but he wanted more. He nodded assent when Isaac spoke to him. He felt better after he was reminded about Daniels and how he was one of the most talented from the Hercules group. It was a shame that he was no longer around, Parker was certain he could learn from the man and accelerate his training.

"Anyway, that's about it for the basics. You'll all start learning more about your powers tomorrow, and it ain't gonna be no written exam, so get some food, get some rest, and get ready to hit it bright and early." Derrick said.
"Dismissed!"
------——--------------------------------------------------------
The next day...
Parker arrives to begin his first day of training, under the guidance of Ulrich, a fairly low scale Psyker.

Parker left the room and did as he was instructed. Eating was no problem but falling asleep was. He had too much on his mind, too many questions unanswered. Eventually he nodded off.
When he woke he wasn't energized as he would have been from a good night's rest though his eagerness to learn fueled. He ate then hurried to the room to continue his training.

A man is asleep, with his head down on his desk, snoring loudly.
He's overweight and dirty faced.

Parker chuckled softly then took a seat. Staring at the man he cleared his mind seeing if he could use his powers to learn anything about the snoring man.

Parker couldn't learn anything.
The man seems asleep almost to the point of being in a coma. And his snoring gets louder.

Parker waits approximately 15 minutes to see if anyone else arrives. (If not he approaches the man and tries to wake him gently so as not to scare him.)

After 15 minutes, no one else enters, and Parker's kind attempt to wake him fails.

His sleep seems... unnaturally deep. In fact, it seems like he's been sedated or something.
Then, all of a sudden, the man inhales deeply, and then exhales slowly. Afterwards, he no longer snores :r squirms.
He's just still... unnaturally still.
