The Brotherhood Of SteelThe Brotherhood of Steel (BOS) is a quasi-religious organization operating across the ruins of post-war North America, with its roots stemming from the American military and the government-sponsored scientific community from before the Great War. The Brotherhood is generally beneficial to humanity, but they have their faults: They don't care for mutants; they worship technology (and in many cases put it above human life); and they don't like to share their choicest technological discoveries, despite the obvious benefits their technology could bring to the Wasteland. It's commonly accepted within the Brotherhood that the people of the Wasteland are not responsible enough to use (and maintain) all of the technology the BoS has at their disposal. They are known for trading some of their technologies with frontier communities and NCR states, but they keep the more sensitive technologies to themselves. With the outbreak of the civil war, The True Brotherhood (Older, more pragmatic Western Chapter) and The Knight Of Prosperity (Kinder to humans, but annihalate Mutants and Ghouls on sight.) have had to start differentiating themselves from one another. Physical Description: The Brotherhood wears the colors they always have: Grey and Blue armor with their insignia on the shoulder. Meanwhile, The Knights adorn themselves in more flamboyant shades of White (Standard Brothers) and Gold (Paladins, Elders). Military: With the split in ideologies, came a split in warfare tactics between the two. The Brotherhood still operates much the same as always, with it's two main forces; The Knight Brothers and The Circle Of Steel. The Knight Brothers are the stuff of legends: Power Armored Dreadnaughts, trained primarily in heavy arms such as Missile Launchers, Machine Guns, Power Fists and all kinds of energy weapons. The C.O.S. is the exact opposite: Where the Brothers overwhelm with superior firepower and brute force, the C.O.S. applies percision and Subtlety. They are the infiltrators and black ops agents. They opt instead of lighter Recon Armor, Sniper Rifles of all kinds, tactical explosives, and silenced weapons. The Knights Of Prosperity, while lacking in such versatility, have far greater numbers however, thanks to the fact that they started recruiting average wastelanders around 5 years ago, shortly after Project Purity. The Conscripts, as they are sometimes refered to, wear patchwork armor mass produced in D.C. and are usually armed with standard firearms, favoring SMGs, hand guns, and other light weaponry to complement their hit and run/fast tactics. The standard knights wear the armor of the normal brotherhood painted white, and prefer Energy weapons more then the western chapter. Paladins wear the same, but with tints of gold. The Templars, named after the knights of yore, are in a completely different class. The most elite soldiers in The KOP, and possibly the capital wasteland, and sport heavily modified Power Armor, tailored to allow much faster movement with minimul loss of protection. They wield light, fully automatic energy pistols on their hip to handle most foes easily. But when this isn't enough, they deploy their signature weapons: An Arm Mounted, collapsable titanium shield on one arm, and a similarly designed Sword on the other. They are a terror to behold, and chances are if you ever see them draw steel, you won't live to tell of it. The Equipment of The Templars is so costly to create and maintain, there are only 13 at any time; 12 Knights and one Knight Commander. No matter the side, The B.O.S. is one of the most feared and respected groups in the wasteland. Important Members: Elder Zachery Maxton: Leader of The True Brotherhood and great descendant of the founder of the B.O.S. Elder David McElroy: Leader of The Knights Of Prosperity, Hero of The Capital Wasteland, Destroyer of the Enclave. Paladin Maxwell Valence: The Man in charge of The TB's operations in The Gulf. Knight Commander Alistaire Dayne: Leader of the Knights Templar and the man in charge of The KOP's operations in the Gulf.

New California Republic ArmyThe New California Republic Army (NCRA) is the standing army of the New California Republic and one of the largest and most effective military forces in the post-nuclear United States. As the military arm of the NCR, matters of diplomacy are left to be decided by the civilian branch of the government, (the president and the congress). Outsiders' view of the military depends on their relationship with the NCR. The Army's organization is inspired by pre-War American military, although adapted to the much smaller population of the wastelands. The standard level of organization of infantry forces is the battalion, which in turn is divided into companies under the command of a Captain. Companies are in turn divided up into Platoons and these divided into squads, created at the CO's discretion. Typically, they are led by a sergeant or other non-commissioned officer. Aside from an increase in numbers, the NCRA is largely unchanged. There are still 3 main groups; The Troopers (Standard foot soldiers of variable equipment), First Recon(Infiltration Specialists), and The Rangers(The Elite Special Forces). Physical Description: Troopers are always in their standard issue tan uniforms of varying make. 1st Recon dresses a bit lighter, but have a distinct Red Berret, with their insignia on it. Rangers come in two types, The average wearing brown body armor and an old park ranger hat, and the Elite, dressed in Full Riot Gear. Military: The Troopers are run of the mill grunt, wielding whatever they can get their hands on, but primarily their standard issue armor, iconic Service Rifles, 9mm Handguns, and an occasional Shotgun or grenade. They are the proverbial Cannon Fodder of the NCRA, most of them being young, stupid, or a mix of both. First Recon are better equipt. They wear slightly higher quality armor, and almost exclusively use Long Range Rifles, hence them being "The Last Thing You Never See." They usually have a side arm as back up, more often then not a 10mm Pistol or SMG. When it comes to tactical target elimination, they are without peer, although some say they lack versatility. Standard Rangers have moderate quality armor and favor Bolt Action Rifles, Repeats, Shotguns, and Revolvers. Rangers are usually sent to scout and get the lay of the land, thanks to their survival skills and endurance. Veteran Rangers, in addition to their top of the line Riot Armor, usually carry the highest quality guns. Everything from Assault Rifles to Shotguns, Grenade Launchers to 12.7mm Pistols, they never lack for fire power. Of special note is the engraved, high power revolver, called a Sequoia, which is only reward to the best of the best. These soldiers are One Man Armies, and have gone toe to toe with Brotherhood Paladins on many an occasion. Important Members: President Lee Oliver: Leader of the NCR and seasoned general.

The Broken LegionCaesar's Legion was a massive army inspired by the stories of imperial Rome's might. Though the bulk of Caesar's soldiers had only improvised weapons to fight an enemy armed with modern rifles, their sheer discipline and ferocity dampened the impact of the NCR's technological advantage. Combined with their skill in infiltration and sabotage, the warriors of Caesar's Legion had managed to score important victories against the NCR and maintained a powerful presence as the most feared faction in the Mojave Wasteland. Until their utter defeat at the Second Battle Of Hoover Dam. While licking their wounds back home in Arizona, Caesar succomed to a brain tumor that had plagued him for years. Upon his death, Legate Lanius attempted to step up as the new Caesar, despite the fact that he ordered a retreat in the face of overwhelming odds and was to be executed. Vulpes Inculta, leader of the Fumentarii, refused to let this happen and resisted. The Legion was divided in two: Lanius's men who looked upon him with godlike awe, and Caesar's Faithful, who refused to follow a coward. War broke out not soon after, and the Legion tore itself apart. When they realized it was no more, the high ranking officers left, men following with them in every which way. Now, as tribal bands roaming the wastes, the remnants of Caesar's Legion look for a new place to live, usually by taking it from someone else. Physical Description: Roman Esque Armor made from old Football and Hockey Pads For the vast majority. Fumentarii adorn themselves in reinforced pads, and each wear an animal skin on their helmets, hiding their faces behind glasses or goggles. Centurians wear heavy metal armor salvaged from fallen enemies and stitched together as best they can. Military: The Broken Legion tribes all primarily favor close range assaults with mass produced Machetes, especially the Legionaires. Legionaire armor is light and of little protection, but is plentiful. As stated above, they attack up close with their Machetes, in large numbers. They occasionally can be found with shotguns, rifles, handguns, and SMGs, but it is rare for them to be well armed. Fumentarii's armor is stronger and more durable, but not excessively so. They rarely attack head on, instead relying on deception, clever tactics, and sabotage. If they do end up in a hand to hand fight, they are deadly with their Gladius, short blades that are easy to use and razor sharp. They favor handguns and SMGs almost exclusively. Centurians are exceptionally deadly warriors, their armor being almost impenerable to most small arms fire. They wade into battle with two handed weapons like Hammers and the occasional Chainsaw. Thanks to their strength, they're also more often then not in the possession of large, damaging guns like Shotguns, Hunting Rifles, and Magnums. Important Members: Lanius: Leader of the largest band in the broken legion, once Caesar's Legate. Vulpes Inculta: Ex-Leader of the Fumentarii, leader of a moderately sized band. The Beast Of Bakersfield: An Ex-Centurian, feared by all and infamous for his horrific crimes against humanity. Carries a Chainsaw into battle.

THE ENCLAVE REMNANTS The Enclave is a secretive military organization who are believed to have descended directly from members of the pre-War United States government, and military industrial complex, claiming to be the legal continuators of the state, and styling themselves as such. The Enclave is comprised mostly of descendants of government officials and military elite, and others with ties to powerful corporations who retreated to a Poseidon Energy oil rig when the Great War started. Due to their narrow views and snobbish upbringing, the average Enclave citizen considers mainlanders to be "mutants", fit only for eradication. The Enclave takes pride in being the last bastion of pure, unmutated humanity, aside from the unopened Vaults, and being the most technologically advanced faction in the wasteland. Because of the effects of radiation and the Forced Evolutionary Virus on the people of the Wasteland, members of the Enclave generally do not consider them to be human any more, even if they look no less human than they do. They, as well as other mutated creatures, like super mutants and ghouls, are considered to be sub-humans that are at best to be used as slaves, and at worst eradicated so that "true humanity" could take their place as the "real" nation of America. After their destruction at the hands of the Brotherhood of Steel, what remained of the Enclave scattered across the wasteland. Over the years, most of them have been hunted down and killed by both sides of the B.O.S. It is estimated that fewer then 100 remain. Physical Description: The used to wear jet black power armor, but most have abandoned it for mere survival. For the most part, they dress as normal people. Military: While they have no military, all remaining Remnants boast top tier training in all forms of combat, specializing primarily in unarmed combat and Energy Weapons, Plasma to be specific. Important Members: Major Vincent Rommel: The leader of a recently destroyed squad, currently being hunted by The Templar Victor Charlamaine. General Augustus Sinclair: A high ranking official who disappeared shortly after the destruction of Raven Rock. Rumored to have headed south.

VAULT DWELLERS:A Vault is a type of subterranean installation designed by Vault-Tec. Officially, they were designed for the sole purpose of sheltering up to one thousand dwellers from a nuclear holocaust. But in reality, they were used as a secret experiment for the government. Vaults 60-70 are spread throughout Florida, some opened, some sealed. Some vacant, some with inhabitants. Vault Dwellers are considered to be the purest humans left after the war, and are usually found dressed in a blue jumpsuit, with their Vault's Number emblazoned in Yellow on the back. They usually know little of the outside world, and have equipment of variable use and value. Notably, all Vault Dwellers have a Pip-Boy: a type of wrist mounted Personal Computer.
